We took a 85km bus ride from Devonport to the Cradle Valley trailhead, which gave us a 12:45pm start. We walked from Ronny Creek to Waterfall Valley (10.4km) on our first day. It rained on us most of the day, and it was windy with no visibility. We were treated to our first wombat sighting, which was one of our goals for this trip. We will have to return to Cradle Valley so we can see what we missed on this leg of the trip, and also bag Cradle Mountain (we couldn't see it that day).
