The untracked snow in Onion Valley was too soft, and we didn't feel like postholing after a 15 hr hike the day before. So we ended our hike early. I still had time and looked in Zdon's book for an easy hike. Mazourka Peak (9,209') was listed as "one of the few drive up peaks that provides the kind of views and serenity that desert peaks have to offer." It was 20 miles each way. Cool stuff in Mazourka Canyon, including an oasis, and also a memorial. (wk 69, day 2)
