We drove 5 miles on dirt road (FUN!) from the White Mountain Road, to an old mine where we found a goldminer's camp. Their water was frozen so they went to town for a resupply. We headed straight up to the East Summit, signed the register, then descended to a saddle before heading up to the Black Mountain ridge leading to the summit. There was no register, but Ranboze found the terracache. After an hour we headed back. The goldminers had hot tea for us, so we hung out for another hour with them. We met Rachel at Indian Wells for dinner, then headed home. Fun weekend! (wk 143, day 2)
