SnowDude has been teaching classes to the Australians for a few weeks in Goleta. I drove up to spend the weekend with him, and check out the mountains in the Santa Barbara area. We hiked to Saddle Rock, then top of the ridge where we found a road, then bagged Montecito Peak and came out at Cold Spring and followed the road back. Nice loop trail, with lots of new flowers (for me). This is the longest hike I've done since surgery, and felt pretty good! 12 miles, 4,300' gain in 9:20. Next time we'll start before 12:30pm. :-) (wk 171, day 1)
