Ranboze birthday was Sept 4th, but she didn't want to take away from TomG's 40th Anniversary Hike Celebration (9/6/08). So trying to get her out for a "Surprise Birthday Celebration" took a lot of planning and e-mails. (big thanks to Sooz for getting it out) It was a fun hike, dinner, carcamp and birthday celebration. On his way to the trailhead, Tomcat ran into a friend at a gas station who had been there since 1am. She was asleep in the back of the vehicle, her husband stopped for gas, she got out to go to the bathroom. He didn't know she got out and drove away. At the next gas station, he noticed she wasn't back there, and waited. He finally asked someone to check on her in the restroom. No one was in the bathroom. UH OH!! Tom got her back with her husband, and that's why he was late!
