I did a search on my GPS and saw Earthquake Dome (9,350') close to the condo. I took the snowshoes and hiked up the steep east slope. The snow was pretty heavy, so by the time I climbed 1000' (.35 mi), my legs were like rubber. The next .4 mi was stop and go. Views were great and I spent almost an hour up there, not wanting to move. It was a lot faster getting down. I got to Whiskey Creek at 4pm and got a table. Later, Aaron picked me up and got to visit with friends that I haven't seen since last year. Fun day and night! (wk 164)
I walked a little over a mile from the condo (8,175') to the Village (8,000') to the Mammoth Scenic Loop (8,100'). The GPS said .74 mi to Earthquake Dome (9,350') so I headed up
