It was 3000' el gain to Chukkar Peak. We dropped 500' and climbed 900' to Deer Peak. On the way down we found the Piper Plane Wreck, then headed back to the vehicles. Total elevation was 4500' gain in 6.2 mi, my biggest since surgery! A hot but beautiful day for a hike! (wk 173, day 1)
